Please give feedback on our proposed GenAI policy.
Rationale:
A policy for staff use of Generative AI helps ensure ethical and effective AI use within the school setting. The policy aims to protect student privacy and data security and to assist in the prevention of the use of biased or inaccurate content. A policy would assist in deciding when and how AI should enhance, not replace, educator responsibilities like grading and feedback. A policy would help standardise AI usage across departments, ensuring consistency and accountability, and provide ongoing AI training for staff. By creating clear guidelines, schools promote innovation while maintaining privacy, compliance with regulations, and the quality of education.
Timeline:
- April board meeting – discussed if approved:
- Consultation for 1 month and will close on 1 May 2025. Senior Leadership will consult with other schools and practitioners who have a depth of experience in this area
- The policy will go to the May Board meeting
